Many people are asking...
What was the official name of the blizzard?
As far as I'm concerned, as well as the National Weather Service,
it's simply the "Blizzard of 2013." Not "Nemo" or "Charlotte."
Some TV stations have decided to start naming winter storms, but there is no official criteria when it comes to giving names to snow storms. In fact, it's really all subjective. A storm may get a name when it only drops 1 or 2 inches of snow in New York City, but a storm that buries the Midwest under a foot of snow might not even get a name.
What do you think the name should be?
The Weather Channel named the storm "Nemo" and a local Connecticut TV station calls it "Charlotte."
