I'll be the first to admit - I was bummed when I heard we'd be missing the biggest storm of the decade.

Our family was safely enjoying a winter vacation in Pennsylvania and our three day vacation turned to five days as the news came rolling in about all the snow!

When the travel ban was finally lifted, we took a treacherous journey home...only to find our street completely unplowed with a four foot wall of snow blocking the entrance!

"Okay kids - time to walk home!" I announced. We parked down the street (taking one little patch of pavement miraculously sunning itself in the road) and walked in on foot.

The neighbors were outside digging out their cars and what a sight we were! Five people, not dressed for winter, walking down the street, home from vacation.

It was a scene out of a movie! We began the long dig out and one thing is for sure - we'll never forget this storm!
