Sleet and graupel are mixing in with the rain along the shoreline. Saturday afternoon, in Guilford, there was sleet. It is also indicated on the Correlation Coefficient radar graphic. The heaviest precipitation will dodge us, but nonetheless we are seeing moderate to heavy precipitation along the shoreline. My new snowfall estimate is about 3-4" for the hills, if not less. About 1-2" for central CT with more in the higher elevations. Along the shoreline, none-1.5". We could also see sleet become an issue if this trend continues. Tonight we will monitor the ice issue. Correlation Coefficient radar is a product we will be watching tonight. In the picture above, it shows some sleet near Clinton, and back up toward Durham.
