If Bridgeport doesn’t get ½” of rain in next 3 days it will be the 3rd most Driest April on Record.(since 1948 at that location) Windsor Locks, CT will end up 9th driest

Top 2 images are the Top 10 driest Aprils for BDR and BDL.

Bottom left is the actual precip amount since 2010 for BDR

Bottom right is the departure from normal since 2009 for BDR

Looking at the precip totals; The last time we had this little rain was March 2012 with 1.04" and May 2007 with 1.05". Also, this month is not near the least amount of precip for any month. The least amount according to NCDC is June 1949 with .07”. Second least amount is .33” in December 1955 and October 1963.

Looking at the departures from normal; 5 out of the last 7 months have been below normal. The February spike is thanks to the Blizzard. Notice the month of Hurricane Sandy October 2012 we ended up slightly below for that month, meanwhile Hurricane Irene August 2011 we were substantially above normal.

We need some rain and if this Upper Level low sets up around the Ohio or TN Valley, we might actually get some day after day
