An extended period of dry weather has resulted in a high fire danger across Connecticut.

So far this year, more than 50 brush fires have burned over 200 acres across the state. With dry weather in the forecast for the next several days, conditions are only expected to get worse.

Meteorologist Gil Simmons says many areas are already experiencing a deficit of more than a month's worth of rainfall so far this year.
