Technical Discussion:
Southern New England remains between a storm system to the south and high pressure to the east. The result is one last dry day with warm temperatures. Expecting highs to reach into the 70's inland with 60's near the shoreline.
Scattered showers and cooler conditions are likely for Wednesday and Thursday. The days will not complete washouts, but occasional showers could be heavy at times. A weakening cut-off low drifts northward towards the area, before eventually getting picked up by the prevailing flow. The cloud-cover and showers should keep temperatures in the 60's for highs.
Skies brighten and warmer conditions briefly return for Friday. Remnants of the low pressure system pull away to the northeast, allowing for some drying of the atmosphere. Some residual boundary layer moisture could result in patchy drizzle or a shower. With that said, highs should bounce back into the 70's inland as winds shift around to the southwest.
The next round of showers comes in for Saturday into early Sunday. A slow-moving frontal system approaches the area, bringing some spotty showers on Saturday. There is still some uncertainty to the coverage of rain on Saturday. As a cold front approaches on Sunday, another round of showers is expected before somewhat cooler air advects back in.
Looking ahead to early next week, fair, but seasonably cool conditions are forecast.

Today: Fair skies, warm inland. Highs in the low to mid-70's, 60's near the coast.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy with patchy fog. Lows in the lower 50's.
Wednesday: Scattered showers. Highs in the mid to upper 60's, expect lower 60's shore.
Thursday: Clouds, occasional showers. Highs in the 60's.
Friday: Fair and warmer. A shower? Highs in the low to mid-70's inland, 60's shore.
Saturday: Mostly cloudy, possible showers. Highs in the mid to upper 60's.
Sunday: Showers early, clearing late. Highs in the mid to upper 60's.

Note: Inland temperatures are an average. Often times, outlying areas may be a few degrees cooler than the advertised temperature on the 6-day graphic.

Day 2: 69/54
Day 3: 68/52
Day 4: 76/55
Day 5: 70/54
