Update on derechos...

I worked on this video for you last night, right before the 11, and I wanted to touch base on this weather term.

Serial Derecho: A very large squall line that has within it numerous bow echoes. These are usually the most damaging because they encapsulate a larger area than the other two types of derechos. The set up is a strong trough in the mid and upper levels...as well as a powerful surface low.

Progressive Derecho: Narrow band of bow echoes, that has the potential to mature, but usually just includes a few.

Hybrid Derecho: Like the serial derecho strong with low at the surface but closely resembles the progressive type because of size and strength.

Hope this helps!
