I’ve always been a weather enthusiast for as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t until the end of 2011 that I really started to get into it.
When I purchased my first weather station, I discovered so many things you could do to get your weather data broadcasted on the internet for everyone to see. Not only is it great information to have but it’s also very valuable information to weather forecasters and meteorologists who need your data to help them create more accurate forecasts.
One of my favorite weather websites (next to www.wxedge.com of course) is www.wunderground.com. With any one out of a list of compatible weather stations, you can streamline your weather data on the internet and represent your area of the map. I live on the southeastern part of North Haven and have a weather station on that broadcasts my up to the minute weather data to several websites.
One of the features that I really like is that you can add a webcam to you custom weather page. Having a webcam really lets your audience see first hand what the conditions are outside. The image also helps validate the data your weather station is broadcasting. Above is a still image taken from my webcam a few months ago.
