A severe line of thunderstorms ripped through the mid-Atlantic region Friday.

The storms, known as a derecho, caused widespread damage with winds of 80 to 100 MPH. At one point, over 2,000,000 residents across the region, especially Virginia and Washington, DC, were without power.
