I ended up in Sharon, CT today, prime position to intercept a severe storm.

I'll be doing a full recap on my storm chase/intercept adventures, but I wanted to throw up some of the damage that I saw first hand.

The trees and power lines down above were only about 500 feet away from where I was parked watching the storm. I was more safe in an open field, but did not have to go far to see damage. I had to turn around many times as roads were shut down or impassable.

In fact, all of these pictures in this slideshow are in a very close radius, all within the town of Sharon.

I'd estimate that winds were at least on the order of 50-60 miles per hour.

Click here for a final wrap-up of my journey yesterday, including more pics & vids.
