A Flood Advisory is in effect for portions of New Haven and Middlesex Counties.

1:08 p.m.
Areas of heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms are moving northward through interior Connecticut. Due to additional heavy rainfall in the area just north of New Haven, a Flood Advisory has been issued.

Also, there was a Tornado Warning a short time ago for a supercell thunderstorm across Columbia County, NY and Berkshire County, MA. The storm has weakened, but was showing strong signs of rotation on radar.

Although widespread severe weather and flooding are not anticipated today, scattered showers and thunderstorms are still in the forecast. A few of the storms could become strong and dump locally heavy rainfall.

The strongest storm at 12:00 is developing over Orange and this storm will move northward towards Shelton, Ansonia, Derby, Seymour and Woodbridge over the next 20 minutes.
