IF the New haven area experiences a 10 foot storm surge, the red line below shows how far the water level MIGHT get.
Keep in mind that this is an approximate map, but it shows the potential for New Haven Harbor to spill over onto many streets.
The areas of highest risk are:
*By Morris Cove into the vicinity around Tweet Airport
*Long Wharf, Fair Haven and portions of Interstate 95 near the I-91 interchange.
*West Haven/Morse Park and the Sandy Point Bird Sanctuary area.
Also remember that other rivers and streams can flood over, especially near or just inland from the shoreline.
