Discussing the developing storm on the roof of News 8 shortly after 4:30 p.m.
Light to moderate snow was falling in New Haven, but with temperatures still around 35 degrees, most surfaces and roadways were just wet. A light coating of snow was starting to accumulate on the coldest roof surfaces, about 30 feet above ground level.
Periods of light to moderate snow are expected across the I-95 and into eastern Connecticut this evening. Bands of heavier snow may try to move into portions of the state. Those bands have the potential to drop a quick inch or so in a couple of hours. All of the snow is expected to end around or shortly after midnight. Some places may end up with 2 to possibly 4 inches of snowfall from the system.
