Snow changed to sleet and then freezing rain in New Haven last night.
There was an ice accumulation of about 0.25-0.30" in downtown New Haven. Temperatures stayed below freezing in the area as low pressure slipped south of Long Island. As you moved north of Route 15, there was more sleet (ice pellets) and less freezing rain. I reported 5.9" of snow in Naugatuck, followed by 0.6" of sleet and then a glaze of about 0.1" of ice. In New Haven, the Department of Transportation reported 5.5" of snow before the icy changeover.
