Moderate to heavy snow was falling across Fairfield and New Haven Counties as of 6 p.m. Snow has already accumulated to between one and two inches in some areas. I was only outside for about 10 minutes, but snow was piling up on my jacket!
Snowfall rates are currently near 1"/hour in the New Haven area.

Heavy snow will move from southwest to northeast across the state. Travel over the next several hours will become very difficult as snow sticks to most roadways.
A gradual changeover is expected along the shoreline by 8 or 9 p.m. as precipitation changes to a wintry mix and then rain. Northern Connecticut will likely stay snow until well after midnight.

My forecast remains unchanged. Approximately 1-3" along the I-95 corridor, 3-6" between I-95 and I-84 (roughly) and then 6"+ across northwest Connecticut and the northeast hills.

Stay tuned to for the latest forecast information.
