Mostly cloudy skies and seasonably chilly temperatures are expected for Monday night into Tuesday morning as we usher in the year 2013. There could be a few snow flurries around the area, mainly across western and northwestern Connecticut.
Temperatures should range from the mid-20's in the hills to near freezing along the coast.

A weak disturbance with limited moisture is modeled to approach the area overnight Monday into early Tuesday. There could be a few snow flurries, but the column does not look very saturated. Although clouds are expected and the 700mb level looks rather moist, there is a bit of dry air closer to the surface. With that said, some flurries could reach the NW hills and there may possibly be some stray flakes right down to the shoreline as well. Forecast temperatures are a couple of degrees cooler than guidance due to fresh snow-cover.
The disturbance is expected to bring a reinforcing shot of cold air for the rest of the week.
