A quick update for the Winter Weather Advisory issued early today. It is up for late tonight for all of northern Connecticut.

Just spotty rain and above freezing temps expected today. Heavier rain showers arriving 3PM-6PM. Thunder possible this evening!

As this storm passes our area, cold air will rush in across the state on some strong NW & W winds. Any wet roads from rain will turn to ice from 11PM to 4AM from NW to SE. There will be a coating of light snow on top of icy surfaces too!

Bottom line...plan on a slower travel speed Thursday morning. There could be school delays across the area right down to the shoreline due to the icy conditions.

The temperature and wind combination will send the wind chill down below zero at daybreak tomorrow! It will stay cold ALL DAY!

More updates through the day today!
