Warmest Start to a Year on Record

Not only has this year been warm so far, but it's been the warmest in 118 years of record overall for the continental 48.

The map above ranks January - April of 2012 as the warmest on record. The National Climatic Data Center says that the average temperature was 45.4°F, which was 5.4°F above average.

As a whole, it was warm, but how did the individual states rank?
