Hurricane Bud: Getting Stronger

The tropics have been very active to start the young season and now Hurricane Bud is rapidly strengthening in the eastern Pacific.

Tropical Storm Bud developed three days ago, but as suddenly begun to ramp itself up. Winds as of 5 a.m. EDT were up to 85 miles per hour and gusts topped out around 105 mph.
It looks like the storm will continue to strengthen and it could become the first major hurricane of the year (for the Atlantic or Pacific) if things work out right.
