I've been interested in weather since I was 11 years old when my uncle gave me a copy of Weather - A Guide to Phenomena and Forecasts. I think it was one of the first books I ever read cover to cover. I was pretty much hooked since then. Back in my younger days I would make simple instruments out of whatever I had laying around the house. I recall one time I made a wet bulb thermometer by putting a wet shoelace over a regular thermometer.
I am a trained weather spotter and I have my own Davis Vantage Pro 2 Wireless station, I provide data to Weather Underground and CWOP. I maintain my own weather site at http://www.bluebirdsknoll.com.
I am also interested in birding and photography especially nature/bird photography. I've traveled around the USA to photograph birds and mammals. You can find my work under the Photography Blog link on my website.
I'm glad to be a part of WXEdge.
